the services already being

eHealth Global and MedCommons
Form Alliance to Improve the
Interoperability of Medical
Record Management Services
ROCHESTER, N.Y., February 24,
2008- eHealth Global Technologies,
Inc., an industry-leading provider
of patient medical records management
services, and MedCommons, Inc.
a continuity of care record
(CCR) compliant healthcare appliance
vendor, have entered into a
technology alliance that will
provide eHealth Global's clients
with a CCR-compliant solution
for accessing and viewing referred
patient records and images over
the internet.
eHealth Global's portfolio of
services are centered around
the collection, digitization
and access to medical records
and images on behalf of referred
patients to tertiary care facilities,
specialty clinics and community-based
health networks with disparate
record management systems. eHealth
Global's eHealthChart,
which incorporates the MedCommons
technology, provides CCR-standard
based access to a patient's
health information, including
unique capabilities to manage
imaging and PDF documents.
"The alliance with MedCommons
provides another option for
our clients to access the records
and images that we collect on
their behalf. With eHealthChart,
we can deliver the records we
collect for secure online viewing,
or direct integration and access
via our customer's existing
information systems, such as
an EMR or Radiology PACS,"
stated Ken Rosenfeld, President
and Acting-CTO of eHealth Global,
"The CCR Standard is an
important step toward driving
full functionality and interoperability
of medical records for clinical
access wherever and whenever
needed."
Adrian Gropper, MD, chief science
officer, MedCommons, stated
that "eHealth Global's
use of the MedCommons appliance
further demonstrates how the
leveraging of the CCR standard,
online consent gathering, along
with Web 2.0 technology, can
improve the access, communication
and security needed to make
patient medical records available
to clinicians and care givers
exactly when they are needed.
We are excited to have eHealth
Global as a partner to further
lower the barriers to real-world
healthcare information exchange." |
