eHealth Global Technologies
Showcases Services for Bringing
Together Disparate Patient Records
at Annual HIMSS Meeting
ORLANDO, FL, February 24, 2008
- Today at the annual meeting
of the Healthcare Information
and Management Systems Society
(HIMSS), eHealth Global Technologies
highlighted its breadth of services
for bringing together disparate
medical records. By combining
advanced information technology
with a world-class customer
support team, eHealth Global
collects and manages patient
data that resides beyond the
digital reach of its customers.
The services include:
* " eHealthConnect TM,
an industry leading service
that collects, digitizes, organizes,
stores and secures medical records
for prompt clinical viewing
* " eHealthShare TM for
gathering, duplicating and transporting
patient data from a healthcare
institution to referring physicians
* " eHealthLoader TM, which
migrates legacy film or paper
data into a digital information
system.
"Gathering, disseminating
and sharing patient information
between different healthcare
providers or healthcare information
systems remains a tremendous
challenge to this industry,"
said Michael Margiotta, Chief
Executive Officer, eHealth Global
Technologies. "Electronic
Medical Records do not provide
a method for gaining access
to data that resides beyond
the physical or technological
reach of that healthcare institution
or enterprise."
When an acutely ill patient
is referred to another enterprise
for care, the facility must
engage its staff to gather the
appropriate medical records.
This is often a time-intensive,
ardous task. Facilities can
utilize the eHealthConnect TM
service to streamline data collection
in a timely and efficient manner.
Today's competitive healthcare
market often requires better
communication between a community
hospital and its referring physicians.
eHealthShare TM automates this
process to improve service to
community-based clinicians,
which can further increase referrals.
Real-time delivery of patient
information can quicken the
delivery of patient care, resulting
in greater patient safety and
higher levels of satisfaction
for both clinicians and patients.
eHealthLoader TM, introduced
at this year's HIMSS meeting,
is a service that migrates film
or paper into a digital format
to assist facilities with the
transfer of patient images and/or
medical records from an analog
format or legacy IT solution
into an electronic information
system (CIS).
"At eHealth Global, we
believe that by transforming
patient information into knowledge
at the point of care - whether
that be at a hospital, outpatient
center or physician office -
we can ensure a higher quality
of care while simultaneously
reducing the economic burden
on our healthcare system,"
Margiotta added. "Quite
simply, not having the appropriate
patient information accessible
to the clinician whenever and
wherever needed can lengthen
the patient care delivery process
and incur unnecessary, or duplicate,
tests and examinations. And
that's just not good for healthcare." |
