New Online Request System from eHealth Global Streamlines External Medical Record Collection
ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 31, 2008 — eHealth Global Technologies announced today the release of the eHealthConnect™ online request service that streamlines the process for institutions to retrieve outside patient medical records for referred-in patients. The online request service provides customized forms for each healthcare institution customer of eHealth Global, and automatically generates the appropriate HIPAA release of information forms to allow access to these records under HIPAA guidelines.
Prior to the launch of this new service, customers had to either fax requests to eHealth Global, or complete an online template that was not specific to that facility’s request. With this new service, users log into a secure portal on the eHealth Global website to access a form customized to that facility’s specific needs and preferences. The software creates a provider list and remembers user preferences, further streamlining the process.
“The introduction of the online request service is a natural extension of the eHealthConnect service, bringing outside medical records to the clinician’s desktop for use in patient evaluation, treatment decision-making or to help render diagnosis at the point of care,” says Ken Rosenfeld, president and chief technology officer for eHealth Global Technologies. “By making this process completely electronic and customized, we can help our customers become more efficient in the collection of external patient records, saving them time and expense.”
